Sushi Bar Japanese Cuisine: Reviews & Ratings

The food here was fantastic excellent, no issues there. Rolls were excellent, the chefs make great food. The service was the problem. While the first drink came up quickly, the second one took 15 minutes, it was a beer. Our Edamame appetizer got forgotten, we had to remind our server. We had asked for spicy mayo on one of the rolls, and ended up with a roll with no spicy mayo. Then finally, I wanted a second roll as I was still hungry, so I asked for a Salmon roll. Instead, I received the exact same roll I ordered the first time. The roll tasted great, but I'd wanted something a bit different than the first roll. The food is great, I was disappointed in the service. May be a good option if your looking for takeout, but not sure I'd dine in here.

Ate here last week on July 29th, 2024. Will post pics. The Sashimi is priced a bout $3 give or take per piece. The reason why there is split hours is because they close to get ready with the restaurant they share a space with and get the "oyster bar" ready for the evening hours. Also cannot order the dinner items like the Chicken Items unless it's in the evening. So Sushi is only available during lunch hours. Good tasting Sushi. Nice Service. The food was placed so nicely! My twin ate sushi for the first time. She loved it. I cannot eat Shellfish but she can. So she ate the lobster roll and LOVED it! I ate Alaskan Roll, Hawaiian Roll, Salmon Sashimi and Tamago (egg) Nigiri. I LOVED the Tamago Nigiri. I tried the Panzu sauce for the first time. They have Teriyaki sauce and 2 different Soy Sauces for people. In the pics of my food I do not have pictured the Alaskan Roll, My sister and I shared her Alaskan roll. I shared pics of the restaurant. I was able to get around with my cane. I would not recommend using a walker or wheelchair. Outside the pavement is not smooth. There is a seating area outside but it was really hot out and it was nice inside. My sister and I sat down next to the koi pond. I think I got eaten by a couple mosquitos though.

Really cool spot right off the main drag in Wyandotte. Adjacent to the Rocks bar as well if you want to get crafted cocktails. Inside is sleek, modern, and upscale feeling with a full bar and seating for dining. Wait staff was outstanding! They were not busy when we visited and the vibe was pretty chill. The only downside was the sushi, it just did not taste very good. Most of the rolls we ordered had the fake crab and one of them seemed... off, not fresh? But we also ordered fried brussel sprouts, a flatbread pizza, and burgers that were absolutely delicious. I'm not sure I would recommend this place for sushi, but the rest was great.

First time for sushi. Tried the Hawaiian Roll, Alaskan Roll, Rock and Roll, Lobster Roll, Tamago Nigiri (egg omelette), and Salmon Sashimi; teriyaki and panzu sauces. My favorite, so far, are the Lobster Rolls and the Rock and Roll. On my plate, I had the Lobster Rolls, Rock and Roll (shrimp sticking out) and the Alaskan Rolls. My sister had on her plate, the Tamago Nigiri (taste amazing, so soft), Salmon Sashimi (taste so good in both the Panzu and Teriyaki sauces) and the Hawaiian roll. Everything is amazing. 5 Stars.

Welcome to Sushi Bar Japanese Cuisine, where the essence of Japan is captured right in the heart of Wyandotte, MI. Nestled at 130 Maple St, this establishment promises a culinary voyage filled with fresh flavors and beautiful presentations. As you step inside, you're greeted by a sleek, modern ambiance that sets the stage for a delightful dining experience.

One cannot visit without indulging in their stunning selection of sushi and sashimi. Diners often rave about the Sashimi, priced reasonably at around $3 per piece. The culinary artistry shines through, especially with the Alaskan Roll, Hawaiian Roll, and particularly the decadent lobster roll, which has garnered rave reviews for its exquisite taste. For those new to sushi, don’t miss the Tamago Nigiri—it's a soft, sweet egg omelet that has captivated first-timers and seasoned sushi lovers alike.

However, while the food often receives high marks, service can be a mixed bag. Customers like James Lindeman appreciate the quality of the rolls but sometimes note delays in service. On the other hand, Arica Walker enjoyed her experience, despite the unique split hours that limit sushi availability to lunch. This aspect adds a hint of charm, as the restaurant shares its space with an oyster bar that prepares for evening service.

The outdoor seating next to the koi pond offers a picturesque setting, which is ideal for those looking to unwind. Just be wary of the hot summer sun and pesky mosquitoes!

While Steve Foisy had mixed feelings about the sushi, he found delight in other dishes like fried brussel sprouts and burgers. This highlights the restaurant's versatility, catering not only to sushi enthusiasts but also to those seeking various culinary options.

At Sushi Bar Japanese Cuisine, you'll embark on a flavorful journey, discovering dishes that please the palate and inspire the senses. Whether you're looking for a casual takeout or a sit-down meal enveloped in a lively yet relaxed atmosphere, this sushi bar holds potential for great dining experiences. We highly recommend diving into their sushi repertoire, embracing flavors that whisk you away to Japan with each bite.
